October 8, 2026
This summer's headlines said Dolce & Gabbana, Arhaus, Jo Malone and House of Creed were coming to The Shops at La Cantera. How many can you actually shop in on the first weekend of October 2026? As far as any public source shows, none of them yet. Most of that list is still construction dates in state filings. The new places that have actually opened along La Cantera Parkway and at The Rim this year are mostly restaurants.
That gap matters if you live in The Dominion and use the La Cantera and Rim corridor as your everyday shopping district. The luxury retail is arriving in stages through the holidays and into spring 2027. The dining and the free fall events are already here.
Sunny's All-Day Brunch & Bar opened at 17623 La Cantera Parkway, Unit 107, at The Rim. It's a second location for a brunch spot that started in Boerne. A June 5 announcement set the opening for June 15, and by July 2 the San Antonio Current's roundup of spring and early-summer openings listed the La Cantera location as open. It took about ten days from announcement to open doors. None of the luxury retailers in this post has moved that fast.
Sixty Vines, the Dallas-based wine bar chain, picked 15900 La Cantera Parkway for its first San Antonio restaurant. The opening was announced for Monday, Aug. 10. The restaurant's own San Antonio page now shows weekly hours, menus, reservations and contact details for that address.
So both restaurants that announced dates this summer are now taking customers. One more restaurant shows how far a promise can drift. In January, SUYU Nikkei, a Peruvian restaurant, was announced for The Rim with a summer 2026 debut. Summer is over. SUYU isn't in The Rim's current store directory, and the brand's own website lists only its Madrid restaurant. No source we found confirms a delay or a cancellation, so the project is unconfirmed rather than dead.
The Shops at La Cantera already has two of its new luxury tenants open. The mall marked Herman Miller as open in a listing dated Aug. 20, 2026. It's on Level 1 near Barnes & Noble. AMIRI is also listed as open, near Nordstrom. In mid-August, WhatNow listed both among a group of new concepts headed to the center, along with House of Creed, Jo Malone, Dolce & Gabbana and Arhaus. That report gave no opening dates for any of them.
For the rest of that list, the best public timeline comes from building-project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). These filings track construction. They don't announce grand openings. A completion date in a TDLR record means the contractor expects the build-out to be finished by then. Hiring, stocking and a ribbon-cutting come after.
| Business | Location | Construction window in public filings | Public opening date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dolce & Gabbana | The Shops at La Cantera | Started 6/7/2026, completion 10/9/2026 | None announced |
| House of Creed | The Shops at La Cantera | Started 8/24/2026, completion 9/11/2026 | None confirmed |
| Jo Malone | The Shops at La Cantera | 10/1/2026 through 1/2/2027 | None announced |
| Arhaus | The Shops at La Cantera, 17,660 sq. ft. | Completion 12/26/2026 | None announced |
| Vuori | 15900 La Cantera Pkwy, Suite 1190 | Construction expected to start October 2026 | Targeted Feb. or March 2027 |
| Hard Eight BBQ | Inside Bass Pro Shops, 17907 IH-10 West | Completion estimated 11/1/2026 | None announced |
The table shows that these stores won't open all at once. They are spread across roughly six months. Dolce & Gabbana's build-out is scheduled to finish on Oct. 9, five days from now. Work on Jo Malone started Oct. 1 and runs past New Year's. Arhaus, by far the largest space on the list, isn't scheduled to finish construction until the day after Christmas. Vuori's first San Antonio store, a 4,795-square-foot space, hadn't even started construction when it was reported in August.
House of Creed is the hardest one to call. A San Antonio Business Journal headline in August said the fragrance house "opens" at La Cantera. CultureMap's Aug. 4 story described it as "to open." WhatNow's Aug. 14 report still grouped it with concepts the center was preparing to welcome. Its construction completion date of Sept. 11 has passed, but finished construction doesn't prove the store is selling yet. If you're planning a trip specifically for Creed, call ahead.
Across IH-10, The Rim's 2026 changes look different. They are mostly upgrades to stores that are already there, plus one restaurant inside an existing store.
Cavender's filed for a 28,242-square-foot renovation at 5819 Worth Parkway, with construction scheduled from June 29 to Sept. 26, 2026. That end date has passed, and no public report we found confirms whether the work finished on time.
Hard Eight BBQ is the restaurant to watch at The Rim. The project is going in inside Bass Pro Shops at 17907 IH-10 West. The state filing lists it at 17,300 square feet, with a project status of "Project Registered" and estimated construction completion on Nov. 1, 2026. When the Express-News covered the project in March, officials hadn't given a grand-opening date. We found no later date. If Nov. 1 holds, the corridor's next big restaurant opening would come before most of the luxury retail on the La Cantera side. That fits the pattern of the past six months.
Most of the new luxury stores will open after the holidays start. In the meantime, the strongest reasons to visit the corridor this month are on event calendars, and several of them are free.
The Rock at La Cantera, the Spurs' practice and community campus, is running Rocktober from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. The Rim is hosting a family movie series in RIM Commons. The Shops at La Cantera has a Día de los Muertos runway show on the calendar. Here are the dates in order:
The weekend of Oct. 10 and 11 is the busiest. The RIM movie series starts that Saturday, and the La Cantera runway show is on Sunday evening at Center Court. That puts the event on the same property as Herman Miller and AMIRI, which are open, and the Dolce & Gabbana storefront, which should be just about finished. Sixty Vines is on the same parkway if you want dinner before or after. The following Saturday, Oct. 17, is the other busy day. Pumpkin Palooza and the opening of Coyote's Corn Corral both land then, and the Corral keeps running into November, past Hard Eight's estimated construction finish.
Based on the filings, the corridor is likely to change on this schedule. Dolce & Gabbana could open this month. Hard Eight's build-out is due in early November. Jo Malone and Arhaus are scheduled to finish construction between late December and early January. Vuori is aiming for late winter or early spring 2027. Every one of those dates is a construction estimate, and a restaurant promised for summer 2026 has already shown how far estimates can slip. For anything not marked open on the mall or Rim websites, the safest assumption is that it's still being built until the business itself announces an opening.
